Epson's laser projector ushers-in HDR era for the home with high quality 4K-enhancement and support for Ultra HD Blu-ray EH-LS10500 offers the ultimate in picture quality and convenience, with powered lens shift, zoom and focus, and lens position memories

15 September 2016 - Epson brings the technology of High Dynamic Range (HDR) home entertainment to its home cinema laser projector range, with the new EH-LS10500. 3LCD reflective panels, 4K-enhancement, a laser light source and support for Ultra HD Blu-ray discs and other HDR sources combine in this model for the ultimate in home cinema picture performance.

Charlotte Hone, product manager, Epson UK, says: “HDR is set to make home cinema more intense and immersive, so we're really proud of the EH-LS10500. It's our latest generation of home cinema projector with a dual laser light source, which is now able to show HDR material in all of its glory. By increasing the contrast between the darkest and lightest areas of the screen, HDR creates more depth and new levels of detail that have previously not been possible, and it also massively enriches colours – the EH-LS10500 can display it all perfectly.”

Created for a dedicated home cinema environment, the intuitive technology inside the EH-LS10500 is all about exact images. At its core are Epson's 3LCD reflective panels and the dual laser light source producing a wide colour gamut and absolute blacks. Silky smooth images are assured thanks to a high aperture and high-speed motion response for crisp and detail-rich images during fast-motion sequences.

Delivering a premium home cinema experience, the EH-LS10500's image processing suite also includes the latest technology including 4K-enhancement and UHD BD support. Providing the complete package, it also offers upscaling of 1080p content to 4K resolution , Detail Enhancement, Super Resolution, frame interpolation and ISF calibration. Utilising the laser light source also means that it can achieve a very wide colour space, covering sRGB, DCI and Adobe RGB colour spaces, for the ultimate in colour reproduction. With compatibility with the latest Ultra HD Blu-ray equipment Epson is bringing HDR to home cinema. Besides projecting cutting-edge HDR images with a colour generation faithful to the film director's vision, the EH-LS10500's use of a dual laser light source also means it has a long life of around 30,000 hours in Eco mode . That's the equivalent of watching one film every day for 46 years. Thanks to the laser technology, it also has a quick start up time, with the EH-LS10500 reaching maximum colour performance after just 20 seconds.

Beyond picture quality, the EH-LS10500 is designed to fit seamlessly and discreetly into the home. Its stylish lens shutter, hidden control panel and almost silent fan is perfectly suited to home cinemas, with a wide lens shift for off-centre positioning. It’s also easy to set-up and use thanks to motorised optics: a powered lens for adjusting lens shift, zoom and focus.

Home cinema aficionados watching films in various aspect ratios will also adore the EH-LS10500's lens position memory presets. At the click of a button, up to 10 settings can be saved for aspect ratios up to 2.4:1.

The EH-LS10500 is available from November 2016, priced at £5,999 inc.VAT.
