New Televisions for 2017

Thanks to distribution deals with Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Sony and Loewe, AWE is the television expert. The UK CI distributor takes a look at a number of screens that are set to make a big impact on the market in 2017.

PANASONIC

Panasonic kick-starts 2017 with the launch of the EZ1002 screen - the world’s first HDR-capable, Ultra HD OLED TV, which also supports professional grade image processing. The Panasonic EZ1002 pushes the boundaries of television technology to deliver outstanding visuals and audio. Thanks to OLED screen technology, customers can enjoy unprecedented accuracy and spectacular beauty, while the fine-tuned Dynamic Blade Speaker, a deceptively slim audio system that houses 14 multiple speaker units, provides the very best audio quality.

The EZ1002 features a newly developed My Home Screen 2.0. This smart system has been designed to deliver an ultra-smooth and intuitive user experience across all of the content sources.

The screen itself has been designed as part of the Panasonic ‘Art&Interior’ concept. Featuring dark metallic finishes and showing no visible seams, the elegant flat screen appears to float magically above its stand.

Available in 65", the Panasonic EZ1002 will be available in Europe from June 2017.

LG

LG is launching a range of OLED TV’s in 2017, but the one that sits at the top is the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W. This extremely thin screen delivers unbelievable colours and contrast and supports HDR content. Featuring HDR Effect, the screen is also able to process non-HDR content to improve brightness, enhance contrast ratios and render more precise images. This model is the first TV of its kind to bring both Dolby Vision™ and Dolby Atmos® together. The LG OLED TV isn’t restricted to a narrow viewing sweet spot, allowing viewers to sit anywhere in a room and enjoy the same quality experience that someone who is sat right in front of the screen.

Available in 65" and 77" models, the LG W7 will be available in April 2017.

SAMSUNG

Samsung has begun the year by launching a new TV technology – QLED. This new innovation is an evolution of Samsung Quantum Dot technology, which has been developed to improve the brightness and vibrancy of colours. Boasting between 1,500 and 2,000 nits peak brightness, the QLED screens from Samsung are brighter than any OLED TV’s. This increase in brightness allows HDR content to be true to life for movies, live TV or games. This new line-up features three ranges – two being flatscreens and one being curved. All screens will offer striking lifelike picture quality and seamless design details. Availability of the new Samsung QLED screens has yet to be announced.

SONY

The Sony BRAVIA A1 Series delivers an enriched visual experience with remarkable blacks, authentic colours, blur-less images and a wide viewing angle to deliver unimaginable picture quality. This new TV brings together the best of Sony’s unique picture quality technology, including the 4K HDR processor X1™ Extreme, which accentuates the visual appeal of 4K HDR content.

As well as using OLED technology, the A1 series is also equipped with Sony’s unique Acoustic Surface™ technology that vibrates the display and enables sound to be output directly from the TV screen – a world’s first. By eliminating speakers placed around the screen, the A1 achieves a speaker-less and stand-less form factor. Because sound is emitted from the screen, the picture and sound become as one, heightening the reality of the visuals.

Available in 55", 65" and 77" models, the Sony BRAVIA A1 Series will be available later this year.

LOEWE

Loewe’s first OLED television combines cutting-edge technology with state-of-the-art design. The Bild 7 OLED panel is custom-made for Loewe by LG to the very highest specification currently available. To this universally acclaimed panel technology, Loewe adds a host of specialties, including exquisitely minimalist design, class-leading sound, sophisticated picture processing, an integrated hard disk (PVR), impeccable build quality and wide-ranging connectivity. The OLED technology delivers advances in picture quality that include unprecedented black levels, greater contrast, truer colour rendition, a wider colour gamut and wider viewing angle.

As one expects of a flagship Loewe TV, the Bild 7 is made using the highest quality materials, with a meticulous level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. The screen is less than 7mm thick.

Available in 55" and 65" models, the Loewe Bild is currently available in the UK.
